Chicken & Brown Rice Delight

Chicken and Brown Rice Delight:

Prep time: 15 minutes 

Cook time: 40 minutes

Total time: 55 minutes 

What you’ll need: 

  • Chicken Breasts

  • Brown Rice

  • Olive Oil

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Garlic Powder

  • Marinade (I like to use a marinara or alfredo sauce)

  • Mushrooms

  • Green Peas

  • Onions

  • Cooking Pot

  • Frying Pan

Steps:  

  1. Start preparing your rice, grab a pot, drizzle just a little olive oil, and add your rice (I add 56-70 grams of rice). Add your water, (4-6 cups), then drizzle salt. Turn the stove on high.

  2. Heat your frying pan with oil and a dash of water

  3. Chop your onions and add them to your frying pan on medium-high heat

  4. In a separate bowl, place your mushrooms and add salt, pepper, and garlic powder and stir then place in the frying pan

  5. While your veggies are frying, prepare your chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder

  6. Remove onions and mushrooms from the pan, and place in a bowl, lower heat to medium-low

  7. Place your chicken breasts in your frying pan, let it simmer, moderately turning them

  8. Once chicken breasts are golden on both sides, pour your marinade (marinara or alfredo), and add your onions, mushrooms, and green peas

  9. Add another dash of water, place a lid on the pan, turn the heat to low, and let it sit

  10. You’ll know when it is done once the sauce starts to bubble and the chicken breasts are tender

  11. Once the rice is done, serve it on your plate and serve your chicken, scooping the sauce and liberally drizzling it over both the rice and chicken
